We are grateful to Jim for keeping an eye out for new Zhu Zhu products appearing on shelves and he beat us to the news that Toys R Us have now started offering the new Nintendo DS Zhu Zhu Pets Game on a pre-order with a choice of Free(?) Zhu Zhu Hamster.
OK, it says free hamster, but the retail price in the US is considerably cheaper even when you consider the poor exchange rates available compared to a year or two ago.
The game has been released in the US, but it is being reported that it works perfectly well on UK DSL, DS and DSi machines and those are now occasionally popping up on eBay.

I ordered the Zhu Zhu pets DS game with free Baxter hamster and it arrived this morning from the USA, it plays fine on the UK DS . I bought it from Seller a seller on E-BAY at a non rip off price , however just a word of warning about custom charges . I had to pay £12.04 when I collected it from the Post Office , while this still worked out cheaper than the UK price and taking the free Baby Hamster into consideration, anyone buying from outside the EU remember the extra cost.
Hang on .. £12.04 is a bit of a rip-off too which I am guessing should only have been £3-4 at most for VAT or Duty.
£12 doesn’t reflect taxes alone. The Royal Mail or PO must be taking a chunk out of that as a handling fee too.

Yes , Royal Mail decided to put £8.00 on as a handling fee , Postie at sorting office where I collected it from told me that there had been an unusual number of packages incurring these charges.
